Benefits On Ethiopian Airlines Services
Extra Baggage allowance
In routes where the normal baggage allowance is reflected in pieces on the ticket, the extra baggage allowance will be as follows:
Blue: 5 KGs.
Silver: 1 piece of 23 KGs.
Gold: 1 piece of 32 KGs.
Platinum:2 pieces of 23 KGs.
In routes where the normal baggage allowance is reflected in weight on the ticket, the extra baggage allowance will be as follows:
Blue: 5 KGs.
Silver: 15 KGs.
Gold: 20 KGs.
Platinum:32 KGs.
The baggage allowance for Blue Tier members applies on Ethiopian International flights both the weight and piece systems. But the total maximum weight including this allowance shall not exceed 32 KGs in a bag.
Earn Bonus Miles when flying Ethiopian Airlines
As you fly on Ethiopian Airlines you will earn you will earn additional bonus miles
Silver: 25% of the base miles.
Gold: 75% of the base miles.
Platinum: 100% of the base miles.
Priority Airport Standby
Access to lounges at Ethiopian departure airports
Platinum & Gold members: First & Business Class lounges across Ethiopian network even when flying Ethiopian in Economy Class. As a Platinum or Gold member, you can invite one guest into the lounges.
(Note: As one of our precautionary measures in
fighting the spread of Covid-19, the one guest access privilege into our
lounges accompanying our Platinum and Gold members is temporarily suspended at
lounges located at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
Furthermore, Platinum and Gold members shall access
the dedicated premium lounge for Platinum and Gold members at Addis Ababa Bole
International Airport).
Silver members: Only at ShebaMiles Silver Lounge at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
The guest shall be travelling on Ethiopian flight on the same day from the same airport terminal that the member is flying from. The guest shall be accompanied by the inviting member when entering the lounge.
When a Platinum or Gold member is flying on Ethiopian operated flight and is entering a Star Alliance Branded Lounge (click here to see list of locations), only one guest is allowed to accompany the member. The guest must be traveling on the same flight.
For Platinum & Gold members the lounge access benefit is available only when travelling on an Ethiopian or Star Alliance member carrier flight.
For ShebaMiles Silver members the lounge access benefit is available only when travelling on an Ethiopian flight.
Rebooking of award free of charge
Platinum Members: Unlimited rebooking before and after travel commencement.
Gold members: Two times after first issuance & before travel commencement.
Silver members: One time after first issuance & before travel commencement
This benefit applies for self and awards transferred to beneficiaries.
